Q. How can I volunteer my time?
A. We are a place where healing can happen through not only medical and surgical intervention, but also by the touch of a hand or a kind smile. We’re a place where volunteers make a difference in the lives of people on a daily basis. Contact Kim Klisch 651-430-8552 or kklisch@lakeview.org for more information on volunteer opportunities.

Q. What are donations to Lakeview Foundation used for?
A. Donations are designated to programs that enhance Lakeview Health's commitment to patient-centered care. An exception to this is if a donor specifically requests that their gift be directed towards capital improvements (equipment needs and facility improvements).

 Q. How can I donate to Lakeview Foundation?
A. There are four simple ways to make a donation to the Foundation. You can donate online by clicking on the Online Giving button, by calling 651-430-4556 with your credit card, by sending a check payable to Lakeview Foundation to the following address: 927 Churchill St. W., Stillwater, MN 55082, or by visiting us in person at our office location.

 Q. I would like to make a donation; however, I do not have enough money to make it in a lump sum. Can I spread my donation out throughout the year?
A. Yes, you can make a donation through pre-authorized payments from your checking account or your credit card each month throughout the year.

 Q. Can I make a gift to Lakeview Foundation through my Will?
A. Yes, your attorney can draft a simple clause as part of your Will that creates a gift, called a ‘bequest,’ to the Lakeview Foundation. The gift can support a particular program of your choice. Since bequests take effect in the future and it can be difficult to predict the most critical healthcare needs in the years to come, a bequest for the general purposes of the Foundation might be the best choice. This gives the Foundation the flexibility to maximize the benefit of your gift. To ensure that your specific intentions can be fulfilled, please call 651-430-4556 or email us at foundation@lakeview.org.

 Q. Why does a non-profit health system make a profit? And who decides what to do with those profits?
 A. Profits are reported as retained earnings and are used for general operation of the health system. While Lakeview Health Administration makes recommendations regarding the use of profits, the final decisions rest with the Lakeview Health Board.

Q. Why is Lakeview Foundation raising money for a Health System that’s making a profit?
A. Responsible business management policy requires that funds never be depleted, but that a “cushion” always be available to cover such things as emergency work, replacement of technology, or building repairs.

Q. Who determines how my gift is used?
A. You do. You can designate your gift to a specific program or you may elect to designate it to the Greatest Needs Fund, which is unrestricted. The Greatest Needs Fund fund the Foundation the flexibility to designate your gift to the program area that is in most urgent need of funding.

Q. If I make a donation, can I be assured that my name will not be passed on, sold or traded to any other organization?
A. YES. All information on our donors is treated as confidential and will not be passed on to anyone for any other purpose.

Q. Is the Foundation different from the Friends of Lakeview?
A. Yes, the Friends of Lakeview is a separate 501c3 organization. They provide annual support to Lakeview Health programs such as, Born to Read, wellness events, Lakeview's art gallery and healthcare scholarships. For more information on the Friends of Lakeview, please call 651-430-4520.
